Developing a comparative methodology for the interpretive social study of the development of (urban) built environment configurations through time. Related interests range from social theory to urbanisation processes, (conjectural) mapping and spatial analysis. Overall most of these issues are related to connecting intellectual understanding (theory) with empirical reality (material) for qualitative empirical approaches on the basis of spatial data and information.
